Applications
Sodium C14-16 alkenylsulfonate is an anionic surfactant. Its molecular structure contains allyl and sulfonic acid groups, making it a negatively charged ionic compound. In water, the molecules of sodium C14-16 alkenylsulfonate form negative ions, namely alkenylsulfonate ions. These ions have good solubility and stability in water, allowing it to form a uniform dispersion system. This substance has excellent detergency and can effectively remove various dirt and grease.
Preparation
Currently, the most widely used method for preparing sodium C14-16 alkenylsulfonate is through a sulfonation reaction of C14-16 α-olefins and sulfur trioxide, followed by neutralization with sodium hydroxide or sodium carbonate.
